Shortly before the news broke that Senator Larry Craig was reconsidering his plans to resign from the U.S. Senate, Melanie Sloan discussed the double standard of GOP leadership in the cases of Craig and his colleague, David Vitter. The main difference is that Craig's case involves gay sex:

File a criminal complaint with someone, against Vitter.
Start detailing publicly, the crime or crimes he has committed.
You were saved that trouble in the Craig matter, because a police officer did that for you.
But why are our law enforcement agencies dropping the ball on Vitter, and not charging him with a crime?
Register a criminal complaint with a law enforcement agency; detail the charge or charges to them, and also to the public...
...make an accusation and argue the facts.
