CREW: Bush admin. lost more than ten million e-mails
CREW's Anne Weismann told crn.com that the number of missing e-mails from the White House far surpasses the widely stated total of five million. It could be more than double or over ten million:
"I will tell you, by the way, that it's way higher than five million. It's more than 10 million," said Anne Weismann, a former Justice Department attorney who now serves as chief counsel for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).
Media reports have generally put the number of e-mails the Bush administration is reported to have lost from 2003-2006 at roughly five million. That was the number White House Press Secretary Dana Perino mentioned in an April press conference, when she admitted that millions of e-mails may have disappeared from the Executive Office of the President (EOP) archives.
But Weismann said sources close to Congressional and private investigations of the missing e-mail scandal had informed her that more than twice as many e-mails were unaccounted for by the Bush administration.
The Evidence Still Exists at the NSA
American citizens paid for the NSA, NRO and Ecshalon for YEARS without their knowledge or consent. It's high time American's got to use that massive filter of electronic communication for something that would prove the value of the expenditure.
Open those agency records to reproduce the data streams from the original send date. If any agency refuses or claims inabillity, close it down and detain all personel at Gitmo until reasons are given and truth is revealed.
Lost?
I think the use of the term "lost" is too generous. Those emails were in no sense "lost." I have been using email for 25 years and have yet to "lose" one. It can't be done. They don't get lost. They get deleted. On purpose. Is there a prima facie case for obstruction of justice here?
psnyder
Bush lost 10 million E-Mails
If he destroys all his documents, at least we can save the cost of a presidential library.
Ex Bush chump
The presidential library
The presidential library wouldn't cost much to build or maintain anyway. The only book he's ever known to have read (actually, partially read) is "My Pet Goat".
It's more than 10 million,"
Reminds me of Bill Clintoon and Hillary Beast.
10 Million
How could it? Where was it ever proven/alleged that the Clinton administration destroyed e-mails (Sources, please-be specific)?
Bush's e-mail destruction and your faulty memory!
I'm sure there's some explanation for how Bush's destruction of official e-mails reminds you of President Clinton but I can't imagine what it might be. Would you care to explain the Clinton action this illegal Bush action reminds you of?
Get over the Clintons
Yeah, the Clinton's record sucks, but GW is in a class all of his own - incompetent and corrupt. The incompetent part is more worrisome since corrupt goes with the territory.
You Bush defenders quit trying to find ways to make this f&*KING moron's motives acceptable. People who defend idiots are the biggest idiots of them all....
Missing E Mails
Yeah, what a terrible presidency to have kept peace and prosperity and grew American jobs, good jobs, from the mess of an economy Bush I left in the lap of Bill Clinton. Clinton left us with a monetary surplus after the worst debt in history, compliments of Reagan and Bush. How horrible to have fully funded Social Security until beyond 2050. Lastly, what a tragic idea that Americans deserve universal healthcare.
I would rather have a President who lied about a trist between two CONSENTING ADULTS, then the current scoundrel who lied us into a preemptive invasion of another country that did not attack us.
How shameful to have had a president, Bill Clinton, who actually cared about ALL Americans, not just his cronies.
With all the lies of this administration, it should be no surprise that millions of e-mails, that belong to the American people, are missing.
there is no logical
there is no logical comparison in the comparison of GW to bill. Neither are perfect, but bush is in a league of his own. In my opinion Nixon and Bush have more in common, but bush has surpassed him further than anyone after Watergate could imagin any future president could take corruption and cover-ups.

begin the process now
If the process of impeachment does not begin in ernest now then there cannot be another reason for impeachment in the future, for any president at any time..
Well, maybe so for those dissatisfied conspirators with millions of dollars to waste and one man to depend on for their income.
