6 Jun 2008 // Following up on news reports that Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had awarded an $11 million contract to Logistics, a company headed by former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent two Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests today to the HHS [including one to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the subject of the awarded contract].

CREW's FOIA requests seek documents related to contacts between Logistics and HHS since Mr. Thompson left the agency. The contract in question tracks the health of workers exposed to toxic debris from the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
