26 Jul 2007 // Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed suit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) over failure to respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. On March 7, 2007, CREW sent FOIA requests to several component agencies within the DHS including: The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Secret Service. CREW was seeking records relating to former high-level officials within the DHS and contracts entered into between the former DHS officials' consultant and lobbying firms and the DHS.
