CREW URGES RULES CHAIR TO INTRODUCE LEGISLATION REVOKING PENSIONS OF HOUSE MEMBERS CONVICTED OF FELONIES
2 Dec 2005 // In light of former Congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham’s plea to two felony counts this past week, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)
sent a letter to Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, asking that he introduce legislation revoking the pensions of Members of Congress convicted of felonies.
Currently Mr. Cunningham is entitled to keep his government pension, regardless of the crimes he committed as an elected official.
